Christopher Fahs, PhD, CSCS

Associate Professor|Office: Remote

Dr. Chris Fahs has a background in exercise physiology. He earned his BS in Exercise Science from the University of Scranton. At the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, he completed his MS in Kinesiology in the Exercise and Cardiovascular Research Laboratory. He continued as lab coordinator of the ECRL after completion of his MS working in collaboration with the Illinois Fire Service Institute studying the effects of live firefighting on cardiovascular function. His PhD is in exercise physiology which he completed at the University of Oklahoma in the Neuromuscular Research Laboratory. He is an active member of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). His primary interests are in the acute and chronic effects of resistance training. He has over 70 peer-reviewed publications mostly related to resistance training including topics such as blood flow restricted training and velocity-based training.
